AMERICAN NINJA vs. RED SCORPION | UNOFFICIAL FAN CONCEPT

THE SCREENPLAY IDEA

Genre: Martial-arts action / espionage thriller / veteran-team adventure

Logline: When a fictional binary chemical agent vanishes from a South African black site, four legendary soldiers—Joe Armstrong, Sean Davidson, Nick Stone, and Nikolai Rachenko—must follow a Russian terror broker from the Kalahari to Finnish Lapland, where a North Korean strike team plans to turn a polar communications array into the trigger for a continent-wide catastrophe.

Tone and promise

A muscular late-1980s action movie imagined with modern pacing: sincere heroism, dry veteran banter, practical-feeling stunts, colorful villains, martial-arts clarity, and just enough self-awareness to enjoy the reunion without mocking it. The threat stays fictional and deliberately non-technical; suspense comes from choices, geography, loyalty, and time.

The four heroes

JOE ARMSTRONG — The still center. Quiet, precise, almost preternaturally alert. Joe has stopped chasing wars, but war keeps recognizing him.

SEAN DAVIDSON — The bridge. Younger in spirit, fast on his feet, and the best at reading the modern battlefield. He wants the team to trust tomorrow.

NICK STONE — The spark. A grinning brawler, pilot, improviser, and walking bad idea. His jokes hide a fierce fear of losing another team.

NIKOLAI RACHENKO — The conscience. A former Soviet weapon who chose his own cause. He knows the enemy’s doctrine—and what it costs to obey it.

The threat

WHITE NIGHT is a fictional two-part incapacitating agent that becomes lethal only after synchronized atmospheric activation. A Russian extremist network called the VOLK FRONT steals its paired canisters from South Africa and sells the activation architecture to Colonel Kang Min-jae’s North Korean splinter unit and several unnamed terror cells. Their target is the auroral research and relay complex at Korvatunturi, Finland. During a rare polar ionization event, Kang intends to broadcast an encrypted “wake” signal through compromised logistics hubs across Eastern Europe. The story never explains real synthesis, dispersal, or weaponization procedures.

Four-act map

ACT I — SCORPION COUNTRY (South Africa). A comic airport reunion becomes an ambush. The team discovers WHITE NIGHT and loses the first canister to Volk Front.

ACT II — THE RED LINE (South Africa). A mine, a ghost training camp, and a freight train expose the buyer and the Finnish endgame. Nikolai confronts a protégé from his Soviet past.

ACT III — LAND OF THE WHITE SUN (Finnish Lapland). The team reunites in Rovaniemi, crosses the Arctic Circle, and fights through a glass-igloo resort, reindeer forest, and armored snow convoy.

ACT IV — AURORA ZERO (Finnish Lapland). At a frozen radar mountain, each hero assaults a different layer of the launch system before a martial-arts showdown beneath the aurora.

FAN EASTER-EGG GUIDE

The callbacks are visual, situational, or character-based rather than copied scenes or dialogue. They reward fans without requiring homework.

American Ninja — Joe catches a thrown blade without looking; a red ninja insignia appears on a recovered crate; an old military truck is nicknamed “Jackson”; Joe fashions weapons from farm tools; the final duel uses a stripped-down obstacle course.

American Ninja 2 — A “genetics” label turns out to hide ordinary smuggling records; an island-style commando camp is recreated inland; comic henchmen argue about payroll during a raid.

American Ninja 3 — Sean performs a blindfold training beat; an elderly groundskeeper offers cryptic advice; a villain boasts about a “cobra” protocol that fails spectacularly.

American Ninja 4 — Joe and Sean begin separated, then converge for a prison break; imprisoned peacekeepers join the revolt; the team uses a bell tower as a signal point.

American Ninja 5 — A young Finnish signals cadet, Aino, becomes the civilian heart of the mission; bright improvised gadgets puncture the grimness; a reluctant mentor dynamic gives Joe warmth.

Red Scorpion — Nikolai’s scorpion tattoo, a desert cave refuge, a rebel healer, a brutal Soviet-style gunship, and Nikolai turning an enemy heavy weapon against its owners.

Red Scorpion 2 — Nick Stone’s covert-team energy, an extremist relic network, a museum gala infiltration, and the idea that old fascism survives by changing uniforms.

Deep-cut visual nods — A duffel marked “M. Dudikoff,” a snowplow numbered 1985, a radio call sign “Cannon,” a crate stamped “Golan,” and a tavern menu featuring “Kosugi hot wings.”

CONDENSED SCREENPLAY

Selected feature-length sequences, connective scenes, and complete four-act climax. Approximate finished-film runtime: 116 minutes.

ACT I — SCORPION COUNTRY

EXT. UPINGTON AIRFIELD, SOUTH AFRICA — DAY

Heat ripples over a runway the color of old bone. A twin-prop cargo plane coughs to a stop beside one lonely baggage cart.

NICK STONE, late sixties and delighted by every bad decision he ever made, descends wearing sunglasses too young for him. His duffel lands first. He does not.

NICK

Tell me that was turbulence.

PILOT

That was the landing.

NICK

Good. I’d hate to think I’m getting old.

JOE ARMSTRONG waits by a dusty pickup, still as a fence post. SEAN DAVIDSON leans against the hood, checking a tablet. NIKOLAI RACHENKO stands in the thin shade, sleeves rolled over the faded tail of a red scorpion tattoo.

SEAN

You’re forty minutes late.

NICK

I crossed nine time zones. In three of them, I was early.

JOE

Your bag is leaking.

Nick looks down. A stream of hot sauce runs from the duffel.

NICK

Emergency supplies.

NIKOLAI

In Afghanistan, emergency supplies were ammunition.

NICK

And how relaxing was Afghanistan?

A beat. Nikolai almost smiles.

SEAN

Briefing’s in twenty minutes. Try to look professional.

NICK

Joe’s wearing a belt from 1985.

JOE

It still works.

NICK

That’s our whole team motto.

Sean opens the truck. The passenger door falls off.

SEAN

We’re not too old for this.

NICK

No. We are exactly too old for this shit. That’s why they called experts.

Joe catches the falling door one-handed. Nikolai picks up Nick’s dripping duffel.

NIKOLAI

Then let us be experts quickly.

SMASH CUT TO:

INT. ABANDONED SOLAR FARM — OPERATIONS ROOM — DAY

Rows of dead mirrors surround a concrete control room repurposed by the multinational COVENANT TASK GROUP. CAPTAIN LERATO MBEKI, South African special operations, commands the room. Beside her: DR. THANDI MASEKO, chemical-defense scientist; AINO KORHONEN, a Finnish signals cadet with nervous courage; and PETER “P.J.” JACKSON, an enormous retired quartermaster who embraces Joe hard enough to test bone density.

JACKSON

Army says you’re retired.

JOE

Army says a lot.

JACKSON

Still allergic to conversation?

JOE

No.

JACKSON

Progress.

Mbeki activates a map: a South African production site, a red route north, then a blue arc to Finland.

MBEKI

Forty-eight hours ago, mercenaries hit a classified disposal facility outside Prieska. They stole two sealed components from Project White Night.

THANDI

Separately, harmless enough to transport. Together, catastrophic. I designed the neutralization system, not the agent.

AINO

A burst transmission from the raiders bounced through a Finnish polar relay. Whoever buys the canisters wants the sky itself as an antenna.

SEAN

Buyer?

Mbeki displays COLONEL KANG MIN-JAE, immaculate, cold-eyed. Then ARKADY VOLKOV, a Russian extremist with an old paratrooper bearing.

MBEKI

Kang runs a North Korean splinter unit. Volkov is the broker. He also trained under a Soviet adviser with an unusual record in Africa.

All eyes shift to Nikolai.

NIKOLAI

Volkov was seventeen when I taught him to survive. I did not teach him what survival was for.

NICK

Great. Family reunion. Do we bring cake or explosives?

MBEKI

You bring Volkov alive and the canisters intact.

JOE

Where?

AINO

A game reserve, eighty kilometers west. The signal moved ten minutes ago.

JOE

Then the briefing is over.

EXT. KALAHARI GAME RESERVE — DUSK

The team rides beneath crimson cliffs in an open safari truck marked JACKSON WILDLIFE TOURS. Nick drives. A giraffe watches him miss a turn.

NICK

Map says left.

SEAN

That’s a river.

NICK

Seasonal river.

SEAN

It’s currently in season.

Gunfire snaps from the ridge. Black-clad mercenaries descend on ropes, faces wrapped like modern ninjas. Joe is moving before the windshield breaks.

MARTIAL-ARTS SET PIECE: Joe uses the truck’s canvas ribs as staff weapons. Sean slides beneath the chassis and fights through spinning wheels and red dust. Nick reverses through a tent, accidentally clotheslining two attackers. Nikolai stalks the ridge, disarming a machine gunner with ruthless economy.

A red ninja emblem marks one attacker’s wrist—not a clan, but the logo of RED SHADOW SECURITY, a mercenary franchise built from stolen legends.

SEAN

They trademarked ninjas?

NICK

Late capitalism finally found its final form.

Volkov appears across a ravine with one silver canister. He salutes Nikolai, then boards a camouflaged helicopter.

VOLKOV

You taught me never to die for a flag.

NIKOLAI

I taught you to choose people over flags.

VOLKOV

People disappoint.

The helicopter rises. Nikolai fires—but lowers the rifle when a terrified local guide is dragged across his sightline. Volkov escapes.

Joe finds the second canister in a burning truck. A digital seal blinks: DECOY.

CUT TO BLACK.

ACT II — THE RED LINE

INT. KIMBERLEY DIAMOND MINE — NIGHT

A freight elevator sinks into darkness. Mbeki’s team has traced Volkov to tunnels beneath a shuttered mine. Chalk scorpions point the way—Nikolai’s old field sign, copied and inverted.

NIKOLAI

He wants me to know he remembers.

JOE

Do you?

NIKOLAI

Every man I trained. Especially the ones I failed.

The lift stops. A single red-clad fighter waits below, hands empty. Joe steps out. The fighter bows. Joe does not.

A silent duel explodes through a warehouse of mannequins wearing prototype combat uniforms—an absurd “ninja army” sales display. Joe breaks the lighting rig; strobing darkness turns the duel into snapshots. He wins with a hooked mine cable, then catches a thrown blade without looking.

JOE

Red’s too visible.

The defeated fighter points toward a steel door before passing out.

INT. MINE LAB — CONTINUOUS

Thandi discovers the lab is a theater: colored liquids, fake genetics charts, and cameras meant to scare buyers. The real commodity is shipping data.

THANDI

No monsters in bottles. Just invoices.

NICK

Invoices made the monsters.

Sean extracts a route: Cape Town rail yard to Murmansk, then Rovaniemi. The file name is COBRA-III.

SEAN

Finland is not the target. It’s the gun.

Alarms. Blast doors trap half the team. Mercenaries flood the tunnels. AINO, monitoring remotely, guides Sean through an ore chute while Joe and Nick free imprisoned peacekeepers slated for execution.

The prisoners revolt. Bells from an old shaft tower ring aboveground—Mbeki’s signal that the escape route is open. A mining locomotive bursts through a barricade with Jackson at the controls.

JACKSON

Somebody order the local?

NICK

Express would’ve been nice!

EXT. CAPE FREIGHT LINE — SUNSET

A kilometer-long freight train races through orange country. Volkov’s men control the engine. Kang’s advance buyer, MAJOR RI, guards the genuine second component.

The heroes attack from a crop duster piloted by Nick. Joe and Sean drop onto separate cars. Nikolai clings to a ladder as the train enters a canyon.

NICK

Seat belts!

MBEKI

There are no seats!

NICK

Then statistically, you’re safe!

TRAIN SET PIECE: Sean fights masked commandos across container roofs; Joe turns tie-down chains into nunchaku-like flails; Mbeki leaps a gap on a motorcycle; Nick skims the train and clips a communications mast with his wing.

Inside a refrigerated car, Nikolai confronts Volkov among frost-covered crates stamped GOLAN INDUSTRIAL and CANNON EXPORTS.

VOLKOV

Europe sleeps because men like us stand in the cold. Why should sleepers decide the world?

NIKOLAI

Because the world belongs to those who live in it. Not those who threaten it.

They fight—Soviet combat brutality against the compassion Nikolai learned in Africa. Volkov triggers a coupling charge and escapes forward. The train divides.

Joe has the component. Sean sees a school bus stalled at a crossing ahead of the runaway rear section. He abandons pursuit, races along the cars, and manually brakes the section inches from the bus.

Kang appears by encrypted video on a dropped phone.

KANG

Keep your canister. Finland already has its twin.

The feed shows Aino’s home relay outside Rovaniemi—and armed men entering it.

AINO

My father works there.

JOE

We go north.

MATCH CUT TO:

A white sun over a white horizon.

ACT III — LAND OF THE WHITE SUN

EXT. ROVANIEMI AIRPORT — BLUE HOUR

Snow lashes a military transport. A sign reads: WELCOME TO THE ARCTIC CIRCLE. Nick steps onto ice, slips, and is caught by Joe without a glance.

NICK

I had it.

JOE

You had gravity.

Finnish Border Guard commander ELINA SAARINEN briefs them beside tracked snow vehicles. Aino translates only when Nick pretends not to understand Elina’s excellent English.

ELINA

Korvatunturi is locked down. Kang’s men seized the polar research annex and three civil-defense relay stations. Blizzard closes the roads in six hours.

SEAN

What about air support?

ELINA

In this weather, air support becomes ground support very suddenly.

NICK

I like her.

INT. ARCTIC MUSEUM GALA — NIGHT

Under suspended aircraft and Cold War relics, a charity gala masks a Volk Front exchange. Nick wears a tuxedo with snow boots. Nikolai studies an exhibit about proxy wars in Africa and sees his younger self in a photograph—face scratched out.

Joe poses as security. Sean and Aino infiltrate the projection booth. A donor’s jeweled scorpion brooch is actually Volkov’s access token.

AINO

How do we take it without causing a scene?

Across the hall, Nick starts a fistfight with a marble bust.

SEAN

Like that.

GALA SET PIECE: masked terrorists rappel through the glass roof. Joe battles among Cold War displays; Sean uses a ceremonial ski as a staff; Nikolai swings from a suspended helicopter skid; Nick drives a vintage armored car through a catering wall at walking speed.

NICK

Museum says do not touch. Nothing about driving.

They secure the token and learn Kang’s convoy leaves through a luxury glass-igloo resort.

EXT. GLASS-IGLOO RESORT / FOREST — NIGHT

Aurora glows above mirrored cabins. Guests think the first explosions are fireworks. Sean and Aino evacuate families through service tunnels while Joe tracks silent fighters across snow-covered roofs.

Joe’s white-clad opponent disappears against the storm. Joe closes his eyes, listens to snow compress, and strikes at sound. A visual nod to blindfold training becomes survival.

In the forest, Nikolai finds Volkov beside a Sami herder’s fire. Volkov has taken Aino’s father, MATTI, hostage to force access to the relay.

VOLKOV

Africa made you sentimental.

NIKOLAI

Africa made me human.

Volkov shoots the fire, vanishes in steam, and flees with Matti on a snowmobile. Nikolai discovers a carved scorpion pointing toward an abandoned border station—Volkov still wants his teacher at the finish.

EXT. LAPLAND ICE ROAD — PRE-DAWN

Kang’s convoy—armored carriers, fuel sleds, and a mobile command truck—crosses a frozen lake. The heroes attack with snowmobiles, reindeer sleds, and one furious municipal snowplow numbered 1985.

ELINA

That plow belongs to the city.

NICK

Europe can bill me.

ICE CONVOY SET PIECE: Joe jumps from sled to carrier; Sean skis behind a snowmobile and cuts between gun trucks; Elina shoots tires without touching hostages; Nikolai boards the command vehicle hand over hand beneath it.

A missile punches the ice. Cracks race outward. Nick angles the plow and shoves a carrier away from a bus of evacuees before both vehicles plunge. Joe hauls Nick from black water.

NICK

Now I’m too cold for this shit.

JOE

Progress.

They recover Matti, but Kang escapes with both active components. Matti reveals the true plan: Korvatunturi’s array will synchronize hidden relay packages already distributed to terror cells. Aino can inject a shutdown phrase—but only from the mountain core.

AINO

If the array transmits once, every package wakes.

SEAN

Then we make sure the sky stays quiet.

ACT IV — AURORA ZERO

EXT. KORVATUNTURI POLAR ARRAY — NIGHT

A mountain of ice and steel rises through the blizzard: radar dishes, a launch gantry, buried tunnels, and an old border-watch bell tower. The aurora coils above like a green fuse.

Kang has three defense rings. The team has one captured carrier, four thermal charges designed only for doors, and no backup before dawn.

SEAN

Plan?

JOE

You and Aino reach the core. Nick takes the dishes. Nikolai gets Volkov. I open the gate.

NICK

That’s not a plan. That’s four obituaries.

JOE

Short ones.

NIKOLAI

I approve.

They stack fists in the carrier’s red light. Nick hesitates, then joins.

NICK

For the record, still too old.

SEAN

For the record, still here.

EXT. OUTER GATE / OBSTACLE YARD — CONTINUOUS

Joe walks alone into searchlights, hands visible. Kang’s RED SHADOW commander orders him to kneel. Joe notices the yard: ropes, poles, walls, swinging tires—a mercenary ninja course built from legend.

COMMANDER

You are the reason they trained us.

JOE

Then you learned the wrong lesson.

Joe snaps a concealed ice hook into the light rig. Darkness. He runs the course backward, turning every obstacle against its masters: vaulting a wall, redirecting swinging logs, collapsing rope bridges, catching a blade and pinning a sleeve—not a body—to a post.

The liberated Finnish guards charge when the old bell tower rings. Mbeki, arriving with a multinational relief unit, has kept her promise.

EXT. RADAR DISHES — CONTINUOUS

Nick climbs an iced maintenance ladder as drones orbit the dishes. His gloves slip. His knees complain audibly.

NICK

I miss deserts. Nothing in a desert is secretly a staircase.

He hot-wires a de-icing system, sending slabs of snow into pursuing terrorists. At the final dish, Major Ri attacks with a shock baton. Nick fights dirty, funny, and desperate—headbutt, wrench, antenna cable.

RI

You fight without honor.

NICK

I fight with arthritis.

Nick locks Ri inside the dish’s service cage and rotates it away from the transmission window. Ri’s own baton overloads the drone controller. The sky fills with harmless falling sparks.

INT. ARRAY CORE — CONTINUOUS

Sean and Aino crawl through coolant conduits into a blue-lit server chamber. Red Shadow fighters surround them. Sean hands Aino his sidearm and ties on a white strip torn from an emergency blanket.

SEAN

You know the shutdown phrase?

AINO

Yes.

SEAN

Then you’re the mission. I’m the delay.

Sean launches into a fast, athletic gauntlet—staff, kicks, wall rebounds—each move protecting Aino’s path rather than chasing a knockout. She reaches the console. A countdown reads 03:00.

Kang enters in polar armor, carrying the paired WHITE NIGHT case.

KANG

You defend a continent that cannot agree what it is.

SEAN

That’s the point. They get to argue tomorrow.

Kang crushes the console. Aino reveals the access token from the museum and opens a manual channel beneath the floor.

INT. SOVIET TUNNEL / REACTOR CHAMBER — CONTINUOUS

Nikolai follows painted scorpions into an abandoned Cold War chamber. Volkov waits beside the activation battery, Matti’s stolen relay codes scrolling behind him.

VOLKOV

You betrayed your country for strangers.

NIKOLAI

No. I betrayed men who confused themselves with a country.

Their final fight is intimate and punishing. No music—only breath, boots, steel. Volkov gains a knife. Nikolai exposes the scorpion tattoo over his ribs.

NIKOLAI

This mark reminds me what I was. It does not decide what I am.

He disarms Volkov but refuses the killing blow. Volkov lunges for the battery and falls through fractured grating, catching one-handed above the reactor pit.

VOLKOV

Finish it.

Nikolai pulls him up.

NIKOLAI

You will live with the choice.

Volkov, stunned by mercy, gives him the mechanical cutoff key.

INT./EXT. ARRAY CORE / LAUNCH GANTRY — CONTINUOUS

02:00. Kang grabs the WHITE NIGHT case and escapes onto the gantry. Sean follows. Aino begins entering the shutdown phrase manually. Joe arrives bloodied. Nikolai inserts Volkov’s key. Nick’s voice crackles over radio.

NICK (V.O.)

Dishes are blind. Also, I may have annexed a snowplow.

JOE

Sean?

AINO

Outside.

On the gantry, Sean and Kang fight above a spinning transmitter collar. Kang is precise, relentless. Sean is tired. The case slides toward an open feed chamber.

Joe steps onto the gantry. Sean expects help. Joe instead kicks the case back to Aino through the doorway—trusting Sean to finish his own fight.

Kang draws twin blades. Sean breaks a frozen handrail, creating a short staff. Their duel races up the launch frame as the aurora brightens.

KANG

The old men sent you to die.

SEAN

They sent me because I’m faster.

Sean traps both blades in the transmitter collar. At 00:20, Aino speaks the shutdown phrase. Nothing happens.

AINO

The relay needs four confirmations!

Joe slams one station. Nikolai reaches the second. Nick dives through a skylight onto the third, covered in snow.

NICK

Next reunion, Florida.

Sean sees the fourth switch behind Kang. He takes a hit, rolls under the blades, and strikes it with the broken staff.

00:01. The array dies. Across a digital map of Eastern Europe, red points wink out one by one.

Kang refuses defeat and charges. Sean redirects him into a safety harness. Kang swings over the abyss, alive but beaten, as Finnish guards close in below.

The heroes stand beneath a silent sky. Then the unstable feed chamber ruptures. Joe hurls the sealed case into an armored neutralization vault. Nikolai turns Volkov’s heavy weapon on the vault’s jammed door—not to destroy it, but to blast the locking track free. The door slams shut. A contained flash glows behind layers of ice.

The mountain exhales steam. The aurora remains.

EXT. KORVATUNTURI RIDGE — DAWN

Ambulances and tracked vehicles crawl across the snow. Kang and Ri are prisoners. Volkov sits wrapped in a blanket, unable to look at Nikolai. Mbeki reunites Aino and Matti.

MBEKI

Europe owes you four a medal.

NICK

Can it be heated?

ELINA

You can have coffee.

NICK

Europe is generous.

Joe watches the sunrise. Sean joins him.

SEAN

Think that was the last one?

JOE

No.

SEAN

You could pretend.

JOE

You’d know.

Nikolai approaches, holding the red scorpion access token. He crushes it under his boot.

NIKOLAI

The fight is never over.

JOE

Neither are we.

Nick calls from the captured snowplow.

NICK

Are we doing a dramatic walk? Because the heater’s on.

The four veterans climb aboard. The snowplow rolls toward sunrise.

FADE OUT.

Then—beneath the ice, far from the destroyed array—a forgotten relay light blinks once. A gloved hand retrieves a thumbnail-sized data wafer stamped with a red scorpion.

UNKNOWN VOICE (V.O.)

Phase Two is awake.

CUT TO BLACK.

THE END…?

OPTIONAL EXPANSION NOTES

Feature set pieces

Kalahari safari-truck ambush

Kimberley mine “ninja showroom” raid

Cape freight-train assault

Arctic museum gala siege

Glass-igloo rooftop pursuit

Frozen-lake convoy battle

Four-pronged Korvatunturi assault

Aurora gantry duel and one-second shutdown

Character payoffs

Joe learns that leadership can mean trusting Sean to take the final duel. Sean stops seeking validation from legends and becomes one. Nick’s humor changes from deflection to connection; he joins the team fist-stack before the climax. Nikolai defeats the ideology that made him by saving the man who embraced it.

Sequel hook

The recovered data wafer contains only a map of dormant relay sites and the phrase RED WINTER. The villains are defeated and WHITE NIGHT is neutralized, but someone has been studying the heroes’ methods—and building counters. ACT I — SCORPION COUNTRY

EXT. CLASSIFIED DISPOSAL FACILITY, PRIESKA — NIGHT

A dry electrical storm crawls over the Northern Cape. Lightning reveals a low concrete facility surrounded by scrub and fifty kilometers of nothing.

A convoy approaches with South African defense markings. The lead driver presents a clearance card. Green light. The guard looks up. The driver wears a smooth black mask beneath his cap.

The convoy erupts. RED SHADOW mercenaries take lights, cameras, and tires with surgical precision. Inside, DR. THANDI MASEKO seals two silver transit cases into separate vault cradles. CAPTAIN LERATO MBEKI pulls her away as the outer door folds inward.

    THANDI

They cannot know what is here.

    MBEKI

They know which hinges to cut.

ARKADY VOLKOV enters through smoke. No mask. He studies Thandi like a photograph come to life.

    VOLKOV

    Your neutralizer is elegant, Doctor.

    THANDI

You crossed a continent to compliment my work?

    VOLKOV

I crossed it to steal your mistake.

Mbeki attacks. Volkov catches her baton, but she drives him into the vault frame. MAJOR RI shocks the floor grid. Mbeki falls, conscious but frozen. Volkov takes one genuine case and one decoy. He leaves the second genuine component behind, unaware Thandi switched the labels.

As alarms die, Thandi sees a red scorpion carved into the soot.

    JACKSON

    Budget gave me choices.

    NICK

    These are consequences.

Sean checks modern comms. Joe chooses rope, a folding shovel, and a canvas tool roll.

    SEAN

    They make equipment now.

    JOE

    Equipment breaks.

Mbeki finds Nikolai studying Volkov’s photograph.

    MBEKI

If he is yours, say it now.

    NIKOLAI

No man is yours. That was the first lie the army taught us.

    MBEKI

    And the second?

    NIKOLAI

That orders can carry guilt for you.

INT. ROADSIDE MOTEL, KALAHARI — NIGHT

Four rooms. One working air conditioner. Nick wins it in a card game nobody else agreed to play. Outside, Joe practices slow forms beneath a buzzing light. Sean joins him.

    SEAN

    You could have called.

    JOE

    You were busy.

    SEAN

    For twelve years?

Joe stops. The silence is not indifference. It is damage.

    JOE

    I heard you were good.

    SEAN

    That was never the question.

    JOE

    It was for me.

    SEAN

    Try a complete sentence sometime.

    JOE

    I will consider it.

    NICK (O.S.)

Who stole my emergency hot sauce?

    NIKOLAI (O.S.)

I am testing its military value.

    Sean laughs. Joe almost does.

INT. DESERT CAVE REFUGE — NIGHT

A local healer treats the wounded guide by firelight in a sandstone cave painted with animals older than every border on Mbeki’s map. Nikolai stares at the paintings. The healer notices his tattoo.

    HEALER

    That one is newer.

    NIKOLAI

    And less wise.

    HEALER

    Then why carry it?

    NIKOLAI

So I do not pretend I was always this man.

Thandi opens the decoy. Saline—and a tracker. Rotor thunder rolls over the cave. A gunship sweeps the entrance. Joe and Sean use ancient smoke vents to split the attackers. Nikolai turns an abandoned heavy weapon on the gunship’s empty tail boom, forcing it down without hitting the crew compartment.

    NICK

    That was considerate.

    NIKOLAI

    I am becoming soft.

ACT II — THE RED LINE

EXT. RED SHADOW TRAINING CAMP — DAWN

Beyond the cave lies a hidden camp built like a salesman’s fever dream: obstacle towers, colored uniforms, a helipad, and captive facility guards in a punishment cage.

    SEAN

    They studied everyone.

    JOE

    Studying is not learning.

The team launches four distractions. Nick adds a fifth involving a goat. Joe disables instructors without repeating a technique. Sean leads captives through the obstacle trench. Nikolai plants evidence of betrayal in the armory, turning mercenary factions against each other. The goat chases Major Ri onto the helipad.

They recover Volkov’s blank route ledger. Thandi warms it over an engine block. Rail codes appear beside one Finnish word: KORVATUNTURI.

INT. KIMBERLEY SAFE HOUSE — MORNING

Rain taps a tin roof. The rescued peacekeepers sleep wherever they fell. Mbeki stitches Sean’s brow while Joe watches from the doorway.

    MBEKI

    He thinks pain is private.

    SEAN

    He thinks everything is private.

    JOE

    I can hear you.

    MBEKI

    Good.

Thandi explains that White Night’s cases hold paired fictional catalysts and authentication hardware. Without the polar array, both remain inert.

    THANDI

We do not need to defeat chemistry. We need to defeat timing.

Aino joins by encrypted video from Finland. She isolates a Cape Town buyer meeting hidden inside a charity auction.

INT. CAPE TOWN HOTEL — CHARITY AUCTION — NIGHT

Ocean lights glitter beyond a ballroom. Nick wears white dinner clothes. Joe is staff. Sean is a bidder. Nikolai refuses a tie. The harmless antiques are code: catalog numbers hide shipping coordinates.

Nick bids aggressively on a carved wooden cobra to keep a broker talking. Joe spots Major Ri reflected in a champagne bucket.

    BROKER

    You have exquisite taste.

    NICK

I have an expense account and unresolved feelings.

A kitchen fight travels through swinging doors without the ballroom noticing. Joe catches falling plates between strikes. Sean pursues Ri across balconies. Nikolai corners the broker in a service elevator.

    NIKOLAI

    Who is the buyer?

    BROKER

    A colonel without a country.

    NIKOLAI

Those are the most dangerous kind.

The elevator opens. The broker runs straight into Nick holding the ridiculous cobra statue.

    NICK

    Sold.

    NICK

    I like her.

INT. ROVANIEMI SERVICE TUNNEL / SAUNA — NIGHT

Elina hides the team beneath a closed sports center. The only secure room is a sauna. Four veteran warriors sit fully dressed on wooden benches while snow melts off their gear.

    NICK

    Finally, Finland makes sense.

    ELINA

    The stove is off.

    NICK

    Finland has betrayed me.

Aino appears on a rugged monitor. She is safe. Matti is missing. She refuses evacuation.

    AINO

Kang wants my father because he built the manual relay. I know the same system.

    JOE

    That makes you a target.

    AINO

    It makes me useful.

    SEAN

    Both can be true.

Joe gives Sean Thandi’s access protocol.

    JOE

    You lead the core team.

    SEAN

    Complete sentence.

    JOE

Do not get used to it.

    INT. ROVANIEMI TAVERN — LATER

The team meets a smuggler who knows the border roads. The menu offers wings so hot Nick signs a waiver. Nikolai eats one without reaction.

    NICK

    You have no soul.

    NIKOLAI

    It froze in 1987.

The smuggler collapses before reaching them—a tranquilizer dart hidden in his coat. Lights fail. Red Shadow enters through kitchen, cellar, and roof. The brawl uses stools, serving trays, coat racks, and one curling stone.

Outside, every team vehicle burns except a reindeer transport and the municipal snowplow.

    NICK

    I choose the plow.

    ELINA

    Of course you do.

INT. ABANDONED BORDER STATION — NIGHT

A customs hall sleeps beneath frost. Matti is wired to a chair beside an old relay console. The visible wire is a bluff. The pressure plate beneath him is not.

The rescue becomes a silent relay. Joe lowers a hook through a chimney. Sean slides a mirror under the chair. Aino reads Matti’s eye movements as instructions. Nikolai braces the rotten floor from below.

    MATTI

    You took your time.

    AINO

    I came with Americans.

    MATTI

    Then we are early.

They lift him clear. The plate clicks anyway. Instead of an explosion, every shade snaps open, exposing them to snipers. Joe and Sean fight back-to-back through the customs booths, old school and new moving as one.

    SEAN

    You called that?

    JOE

    I trusted you.

    SEAN

    Not the same thing.

    JOE

    Better.

    FADE OUT.

    EPILOGUE — THREE WEEKS LATER

EXT. UPINGTON SOLAR FARM — SUNSET

The dead mirrors move again, following the sun. The operations room is now a joint emergency-response school. South African guards train beside Finnish cadets. No masks. No secret cases.

Thandi supervises the destruction of White Night’s remaining authentication hardware. Each component is crushed separately, witnessed by three governments and one impatient Jackson.

    JACKSON

    That the last one?

    THANDI

The last one anyone admitted building.

    JACKSON

Scientists know how to ruin a celebration.

Mbeki receives a video call. Aino and Matti stand beside a repaired relay. Elina holds up an invoice for one municipal snowplow.

    ELINA (ON SCREEN)

Your Mr. Stone signed for it.

    MBEKI

He is not my Mr. Stone.

    NICK (O.S.)

Possession is nine-tenths of international law!

Nick drives the scarred plow into the solar farm. Joe rides beside him. Sean and Nikolai sit on top, still wearing Finnish parkas because Nick lost their luggage.

The four climb down. Nobody knows how to say goodbye.

    SEAN

    Same time next year?

    JOE

    No.

    NICK

    He means spring.

    NIKOLAI

    He means tomorrow.

Joe looks at them—his team, not his past.

    JOE

    Breakfast. Seven.

    NICK

    That is practically a speech.

They walk toward the lights as the mirrors turn, reflecting four long shadows instead of weapons.

    FADE OUT.

    SEQUEL HOOK — RED WINTER

INT. SUBGLACIAL VAULT, LOCATION UNKNOWN — NIGHT

Black ice. A gloved hand inserts the recovered data wafer into an analog reader. A wall illuminates with Baltic ports, decommissioned undersea cables, and dormant relay sites.

Four photographs appear: Joe. Sean. Nick. Nikolai. Each is crossed by a different countermeasure symbol.

A WOMAN steps into silhouette. On the table rests Nikolai’s old scorpion pendant—the one he believed he destroyed.

    WOMAN

White Night was a weapons test.

    An unseen subordinate waits.

    WOMAN

    They were the test subjects.

She opens a frost-covered case: four empty compartments and one crimson file marked by a simple winter crown.

    WOMAN

    Begin Red Winter.

Far away, aboard the heroes’ transport, Joe opens his eyes. A tiny red light blinks inside the overhead luggage rack.

    CUT TO BLACK.

THE END — THE FIGHT CONTINUES
